Headstall ring aligns mouthpiece at a pleasing angle in the horse's mouth to prevent downward rotation of mouthpiece when rein pressure is applied. Encourages jaw relaxation due to limited likelihood the mouthpiece will break down into the tongue or up into the palate; copper inlays will increase salivation.
